Our growing tourist industry revolves around our network of 15 sparkling lakes which provide for year round recreational environment enhanced by such activities as boating, swimming, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and skiing to name a few, with accessibility made easier as both the Hastings Heritage Trail and the historic Hastings Colonization Road run right through the Township.
Limerick has 2 marinas, Limerick Lake Lodge & Marina on Limerick Lake and Woodhaven Campsite & Marina on St. Ola Lake. The township also has 3 Bed & Breakfast's: called "The Gathering Place On Golden Pond" on the Old Hastings Road; Bass Lake Lodge on Steenburg (Bass) Lake; and The Morton House, in the Hamlet of St. Ola.
Trudy's General Store-gas station-postal outlet, situated at the intersection of Hwy 62, the St. Ola Road and the Steenburg Lake North Road is open year round and has much to offer to everyone. Especially snowmobilers and hikers, as the Hastings Heritage trail runs directly behind the store.
The McGeachie Conservation Area, was graciously donated to the Crowe Valley Conservation Authority in 1994, by Jack and Ethel McGeachie. The 358 acres of land on the north shore of Steenburg Lake, has since been added to by another 100 acres, also donated by the McGeachie family, is blessed with acres of wetland, a creek, beaver ponds, mature forest, nature trails and a historic homestead that was built in the 1860's.
We have a modern municipal building housing the municipal offices, roads department and volunteer fire department. Limerick is host to a very active community centre, churches, boat launching, beaches, camping, marinas, a local store and dining. While nearby you can find schools, hospitals, museums, medical facilities, tourist attractions, major shopping area and much more only minutes away.
Limerick has much to offer as both a holiday spot or as a permanent home.
